Grand Canyon Celtic Arts Academy will be taking a break during the 2020 season. During this break, we will be exploring new leadership, as our current director can no longer run the Academy from her home in Tennessee and expanding family life and career.

Grand Canyon Celtic Arts Academy is a project of Northern Arizona Celtic Heritage Society and supported by Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff.

The Academy provides an excellent opportunity to expand your repertoire, learn new tunes, be exposed to new playing styles, and make great connections with other members of the musical community. Irish music and tradition comes to life during these workshops, and ever year that I have attended the camp, it has been a beautiful and memorable experience. I look forward to fiddle/dance/ language/whistle workshops through the GCCAA all year long. Attend, and you will too!

Is anyone from the Academy available to provide classes on Celtic Heritage for special events? I am planning the Clan Donald Annual General Meeting 2014 in October in Flagstaff and would like to speak to someone about presentations that might be available from the Academy. Could someone contact me regarding this matter? Thank You!

I would be happy to do a presentation at your clan meeting as long as the schedule permits. I apologize for not getting back to you quicker! I was unable to get into my website for a bit! Please let me know the date and what sort of presentation you may be looking for. You can email me at Kari@GrandCanyonCelticArts.org. Thanks very much for thinking of us. We’ll also be having our 7th annual Academy this summer if you know anyone interested in attending. Ages 7-Adult, beginners to advanced players.

I am trying to find a youth Irish Dance class for my daughter. She is going to be 4 in July and I am hoping someone in this group might have some information on when and where she could start lessons!

    Thank you

If you are located in Flagstaff, unfortunately there are no Irish dance classes offered at this time. There are classes available in Phoenix. I recommend the McTeggart Irish Dance School. Perhaps a class can be started in Flagstaff with enough interest. The teacher would need to commute from Phoenix though. You can contact Kelly Ahern for more information. kellyahern@hotmail.com Please let me know if you would like any additional information.
